Boston Building Resources sells green and gently-used building materials

Boston Building Resources encompasses two related social enterprises in Boston’s Roxbury Crossing neighborhood.

The first is a consumer co-op. The co-op provides new materials for home improvement with a special focus on kitchen cabinetry, windows, doors, energy-saving products, and green products. Anyone can join, and you can also shop without joining. Being a co-op means that we are not in business to maximize profits, but to benefit our members.

Two is The Reuse Center, a charitable nonprofit that accepts donations of new and gently used materials for resale. Anyone can shop at the Reuse Center. Additional discounts are given to Plus members—people who meet our income guidelines, as well as any charitable nonprofit organization. Standard members and the public will pay a slightly higher price on Reuse Center items, but the extra income helps this nonprofit to be sustainable and grow.

Boston Building Resources is also focused on benefiting the environment. The organization is a source for energy-efficient, water-saving, and environmentally friendly items such as rain barrels, home compost bins, weather stripping, and materials made from recycled components. Further, needless waste is reduced when reusable materials are donated to the Reuse Center at BBR instead of being sent to landfills.
