Want to start a farm? Information from boston.gov

Boston.gov has created a list of resources to help you find funding, get permitted, and start a farm. Contact us at the address or number given below.

We can help you get permitted for many types of non-conventional farms, too. Call us at 617-635-0710 if you're starting one of the following farms:

Hydroponics: growing plants in nutrient-enriched water
Aquaponics: growing plants and fish or shellfish in nutrient-enriched water
Rooftop farming: using a rooftop to grow food as part of a profit or nonprofit company
Freight farming: using a steel storage box that's repurposed for hydroponics or aquaponics, or
Any other innovative farming venture.

We work hard to make it possible for farmers to grow and sell food throughout the City!
