North Shore Community Development Coalition - using green building features in our developments

North Shore Community Development Coalition has 40 years of experience and successful community investment on the North Shore.

We're committed to incorporating “green” building features into our developments to reduce environmental impact and set an example for future development on the North Shore. Environmentally responsible features contribute to a healthier building while allowing residents to reduce their expenses on energy.

Our newest developments include:

Solar Energy – Solar panels provide approximately 45% of the electricity for all public areas of a building.

Green Cleaning Solutions – North Shore CDC offices and residential buildings are maintained with green cleaning products.

Demolition & Construction Waste Recycled – We are able to redirect 89% of demolition waste materials to recycling facilities.

Upgraded Insulation – Dense Packed Cellulose insulation lowers utility bills and improves comfort.

Low-Flow Toilets – Low-flow toilets use half the amount of water as a regular toilet, despite looking exactly the same.

Paints with Low or No Volatile Organic Compounds – Indoor air pollution is considered one of the top five hazards to human health. Low- to no-VOC paints used in our new developments release little to no hazardous fumes.
