Cambridge Recycling Center -- drop-off for residents and small businesses

The Recycling Center is located at 147 Hampshire Street in the back right corner of the Public Works' yard.

It is a safe and efficient way to collect many items that are not acepted in curbside recycling. Open to all Cambridge residents.

We are open:
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 4:00pm - 7:30pm
Saturdays: 9:00am - 4:00pm.

Accepted Items:
Fluorescent bulbs
Mercury items (thermometers, thermostats)
Non-Alkaline Batteries
Electronics (small appliances, computers, cell phones, string lights, and other small electronics).
Plastic Bags - See here for which types are accepted
Books
Three-Ring Binders (one inch width, excellent condition)
Scrap Metal Items - no sealed containers, no appliances
Bulky plastics (laundry baskets, pails)
Printer Cartridges
Blue Cart Recyclables (paper, metal cans and foil, cardboard, plastic containers)
Motor Oil - secured in a container with a tight cap

Items NOT Accepted
Trash
Propane Tanks (HHW events)
Alkaline Batteries (Trash)

We are also open to Cambridge businesses and non-profit organizations with 50 employees or fewer.
