Metro Pedal Power was formed in 2008 with the mission of replacing gasoline driven vans and trucks with pedal-powered vehicles for last mile freight in dense urban areas, in order to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, combat congestion, and enhance the livability and resilience of our cities. Our service is economical, environmentally-friendly, values-driven, and it’s fun.

We have three main areas of business:
Local Farm Wholesale Distribution B2B – sales and distribution of local produce to chefs and small retail outlets around the Boston area.
Local Food and Farm CSA delivery, B2C – a home delivery solution for local farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), local food aggregators, and artisan food producers.
Hauling services – SSO pickups (Source-Separated Organics) from homes in Somerville and Cambridge, City of Cambridge contract servicing Public Area Recycling Bins, and food-rescue operations.

Our burly vehicles and heroic riders work in all weather carrying loads up to 500 lbs.
