Evanston Ecology Center & Environmental Association - Education & Events

The Evanston Ecology Center serves as a focal point for environmental education and volunteerism in Evanston and the surrounding community. We offer educational programs that foster a greater appreciation, awareness and knowledge of the environment.

Offerings include natural history classes in areas such as plant identification and animal study, summer camps that engage kids in environmentally focused outdoor activities, community gardening and our sustainable Tiny House.

Some of our other initiatives:

*Green Living Festival, which provides organizations with the opportunity to present products, services, and ideas to attendees seeking to lead a greener life style.

*Livable Landscapes - a landscaping program designed to help participants control storm water in their yards.

*SAGE - a school gardening program that promotes a healthy future for children by getting them outdoors to plant, harvest and eat the food that they have grown.

*The Evanston Green Ball raises funds for the Evanston Ecology Center, bringing together environmentally focused residents from Evanston and the surrounding communities for a night of food, drink, conversation and dancing.
