Huston-Tillotson University’s New Interdisciplinary Degree in Environmental Studies

Environmental Studies is an interdisciplinary B.A. degree now offered by Huston-Tillotson University. The program focuses on the ways in which humans influence the environment and how we can reduce negative effects through the development of sustainable lifestyles and resource stewardship practices.

The required coursework for majors and minors in Environmental Studies explores concepts and skills from fields as diverse as ecology, environmental law, conservation biology, descriptive writing, environmental history, environmental literature, environmental sociology, chemistry, climate science and economics.

The program is designed to provide an excellent foundation for post-graduate work, as well as for governmental and non-governmental jobs that have a resource conservation or sustainability focus.
