Adelphi Acre Community Garden is an organic gardening cooperative in North Austin

Located at the intersection of Adelphi Lane and Amherst Drive in North Austin, Adelphi Acre Community Garden is an all-volunteer organic growing cooperative dedicated to locally-sourced, fresh food and sustainable, community-based agriculture.

• We provide opportunities for local residents to garden and grow organic crops.
• We promote, educate, and disseminate information about safe, sustainable local food production and organic gardening techniques.
• We beautify the neighborhood and provide a social gathering space.
• We provide opportunities for youth groups to take part in hands-on learning about sustainable food and lifestyles.
• We give back to the community by participating in programs that set aside a portion of the harvest for community food banks.
• The tract of land we’re on sat unused and untended for years. This neglected space has now been transformed into an attractive community hub for all gardeners.

VOLUNTEER

We host monthly workdays every second Saturday where members and volunteers weed, mulch, and maintain the garden’s common areas. There may also be special projects in the compost area, butterfly garden, orchard, or teaching garden.

We often gather afterward for a simple potluck nibble and chat.

THE WAIT LIST

We're open for volunteers and community, but you can also sign up on our wait list for a plot of your own.
