Re:Vision - helping people grow their own food (West Denver)

Centered in the West Denver food desert of Westwood, Re:Vision helps low-income families grow their own food, maintains an urban farm, provides food classes, and works with the new Westwood Food Co-op.

We use a resident-led approach by training and employing local residents in all aspects of urban agriculture and healthy living, providing them with technical skills and knowledge that they share with their community.

We help families overcome the barriers to converting their yards into organic veggie gardens by providing necessary resources, including information, seeds, plants, compost and drip irrigation systems.

We have a 2/3 acre urban farm on the site of RISE Westwood. The latest addition to the farm, Nuestra Ganja Vertical, is a 320 square foot up-cycled shipping container that adds a full acre of year-round hydroponic growing capacity.

La Cocina is our educational space to support cooking, nutrition and food preservation classes.

Re:Vision also helped a group of residents form the Westwood Food Cooperative, a member-owned and operated grocery store, and we contribute to their “Marcadito” pop-up pilot market.
