Miami-Dade County's "Sea Turtle Conservation Program"

The Miami-Dade County Sea Turtle Conservation Program provides protection to the endangered and threatened sea turtle species in Miami-Dade County through conservation, education, and community outreach.

We offer presentations for student groups and others to learn more about sea turtles, how artificial light affects them negatively, what to do if you see a stranded sea turtle and how you can help keep them safe.

You can also watch a hatchling release through our Nighttime Hatchling Release Program. Tickets are a $10 donation, which is used to benefit our sea turtle programs and conservation efforts. Visit the Miami-Dade County Parks Sea Turtle Conservation Program's Facebook page for updates on ticket sales.

It is our mission to protect sea turtles and to gain a better understanding of their biology and ecology. We work to preserve sea turtles' habitats and protect their nests, and inform the public about sea turtle-friendly practices.

If you find a sick, injured, or dead sea turtle please call our Sea Turtle Emergency Hotline at (305)-310-3046 or FWC's 24-hour Wildlife Alert Number at 1-888-404-FWCC (1-888-404-3922)
