"Doctors for Climate" (The Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health)

As respected professionals, doctors and nurses have a crucial part to play in raising awareness about the health and healthcare implications of climate change. To facilitate the medical community's efforts, The Medical Society Consortium on Climate & Health brings together associations representing some 500,000 clinical practictioners to carry three messages:

Climate change is harming Americans and these harms will increase unless we act; the way to slow or stop these harms is to decrease the use of fossil fuels, increase energy efficiency and use of clean-energy resources; these changes will improve our air and water, bringing immediate health benefits.

The voices of America’s medical societies have the potential to help reframe the dialogue. We are seeking physicians in every community in America who are willing to become advocates for climate and health in their community by speaking to local policymakers, local press and community groups.

We offer brochures, reports, videos and other tools. Become an advocate today!
