Support / Discussion

The Multnomah County Office of Sustainability was established in 2010 to help plan, implement and coordinate the County’s environmental Sustainability Program.

Since that time, the Office of Sustainability has worked with the community and County departments to develop unique partnerships that help make Multnomah County a better place to live, work, and do business.

Advocates for Urban Agriculture

AUA is a coalition of individuals, organizations and businesses working to support and expand sustainable agriculture in the Chicago area, from home- and community-based growing to market gardens and small farms.

The group meets quarterly and maintains an array of working groups dedicated to pursuing AUA’s mission through advocacy, outreach and resource sharing, with AUA’s Board of Directors acting as its governing body.

We have tasked ourselves with the protection, enhancement, restoration, and – in urban areas – expansion of our shared natural environment.

This includes public advocacy at all governmental levels, outreach to all environmental organizations, public education at community events, and advocacy for and supervision of State of California mandated public coastal access and easements.

Increasingly, Mother Nature needs representation. Someone has to stand up for the environment when no one else will.

Slow Food Austin reconnects people with the food they eat. Our educational initiatives, social activities, fundraising events, and community volunteer projects inspire respect for where food comes from and awakens true pleasure in eating.

OUR SLOW SESSIONS are fun and engaging classes offered to help Austinites learn about biodiversity in the food supply, local food producers, and how they can make their own food locally.

OUR HAPPY HOURS let us meet together for community in and exposure to sustainable or veggie restaurants.

The Green Earth Institute promotes nutritional health and environmental sustainability through organic farming, education, and Community Supported Agriculture.

Using our organic farm as a demonstration and learning center, we grow healthful vegetables in an earth-friendly way and educate about nature, nutrition, and caring for the earth.

Urban Oasis Project is a local food promoter and information source operating in Miami-Dade since 2008. We believe that good, clean, healthy food should be accessible to all.

We also run potluck meals focusing on local food, "farmer-direct" dinners, arts events and more.

We at Austin Area Electric Vehicle Association are a group of people who gather to discuss electric vehicles, their construction, the technologies that make them work, and how we can further their continued re-introduction into central Texas. Please come to our meetings and see what we are all about.

We host the EV Tradin' Post Electric Vehicle Classified Ads, the web's best place to buy or sell an electric car: http://www.evtradinpost.com/

Several of us own EVs or have conversions in progress.

Creating a culture of conservation in Denver dates back to 1936, when Denver Water advertised on street trolleys asking customers to help save water. The modes of transportation have changed, but the message remains the same, as does our commitment to helping customers use this precious resource wisely with tips on our website and rebates.
