Cambridge Energy Alliance (CEA) is a City of Cambridge program that promotes energy efficiency and solar energy.

Our goal is to help residents, businesses, and institutions in Cambridge save money while also reducing Cambridge’s carbon footprint.

Toward this goal, we promote the Mass Save program, a state-wide, utility-run program that offers significant incentives for a wide range of energy upgrades. We can also connect you to financial institutions that can help you pay for energy efficient improvements to your home or business.

We are Before It’s Too Late (BITL), a nonprofit initiative founded by MIT graduate students to leverage arts, technology and science to ignite urgency and collaboration toward addressing climate change.

BITL is running a first-of-its-kind Climate Action Prototyping Lab to rapidly implement and test concepts that can create social change. Inspired by think tanks and innovation labs, our center is differentiated by action-oriented community programs. We strive to find the tools that deliver results and partner with organizations to scale them.

Bound by Beauty is a nonprofit organization that transforms how we interact with nature and with neighbors to create a safer, stronger, healthier, and more resilient community. And we're using butterflies as the catalyst for change, by promoting and supporting butterfly gardens.

Our programs include:
• Creating Butterfly Gardens
• Network of Neighborhood Nurturies (places where nature's gifts can be shared)
• Foster Garden Project
• Seeds2Share (helping seniors germinate gardens)

The Gleaning Network of Texas is a nonprofit, grassroots organization that brings together growers, volunteers, and service agencies to help the food insecure with fruits and vegetables left over in Texas fields after harvest.

Yes, many growers and food producers have excess produce in their fields that is either plowed under or turned into compost. This is good, fresh produce that Texans need.

By getting gleaners into fields and orchards, we're able to pick the excess and transport thousands of pounds of produce to food assistance agencies throughout Texas.

Greenovate Boston is the City's community-wide initiative to engage all Bostonians in helping the City meet its climate and sustainability goals, while continuing to make Boston a thriving, healthy, and innovative city.

By laying out the necessary steps to reduce the causes of and to prepare for climate change, Boston's Climate Action Plan gives Greenovate Boston a framework for building a greener, healthier, and more prosperous city.

West Chicago Prairie Stewardship Group

*PRESERVING THE WEST CHICAGO PRAIRIE SINCE 1983*

Volunteers from the West Chicago Prairie Stewardship Group provide important support for the management of the 358-acre West Chicago Prairie.

We remove invading woody growth, eliminate alien weeds, collect seeds of native grasses and forbs, and sow collected seeds in recently restored areas and adjacent old-field areas.

We are always seeking volunteers who wish to aid in management and preservation and our website provides updated information on our workdays.

Strong scientific evidence has connected pesticide exposure to a host of health hazards from asthma and ADHD in children to cancer and reproductive problems. Moreover, the production and use of pesticides pollutes our water ecosystems and threatens our drinking water sources and wildlife.

That’s why it’s our mission at Midwest Pesticide Action Center to reduce the health risks and environmental impacts of pesticides by promoting safer alternatives.
